My name is Luci Fernandez, President of CFI Contracting, Inc.  I come from a varied work background of communication, safety, cost production and department administrator. I feel all these previous jobs prepared me for the big leap into construction.

It was a scary time in my life when I quit my job to go and work with my husband in the construction business. As the saying goes, “Putting all of our eggs in one basket” was exactly what we did.  I left a job that provided me with a steady weekly paycheck to dive headfirst into the abyss, or at least that is what it felt like.

I knew that I had to utilize all the skills and experiences my previous employment prepared me for including time and budget management, attention to detail, multi-tasking and so many other skills that we don’t even know we possess until we find the need to use them.  Getting out on the loader or directing traffic was never in my job description before then!

I had already been working in the construction world to help my husband, but just wasn’t getting paid for it.  Once I was there full-time, I was able to initiate policies and procedures to get the team all working together towards a unified goal.  Documentation compliance and completeness along with my strong financial aptitude is what was needed for the company to be fiscally responsible and to grow and expand.
